How do I restore my first document?

What does the free tier include?

Do I need to pick the right console?

It helps, because the console determines the damage vocabulary, the accepted formats and the verification that runs at the end. If you are unsure, the document types index lists every type and which console owns it.

Can I sign in with Google?

Yes, alongside email and password. Sessions are signed tokens in an httpOnly cookie, and protected areas are guarded server-side.

Which file formats are accepted?

PNG, JPG, WEBP, TIFF and PDF across every console, plus DOCX where a Word file is likely to contain scans. Which of these a given console accepts is tuned to its document family.

How are PDFs handled?

Rasterised page by page at 200 DPI, keeping their page geometry in points so page proportions survive. The resulting deck can be reordered, rotated and trimmed before it is committed.

What happens to a Word file?

It is unzipped and the scans inside are extracted as pages. This is common with records that were assembled by pasting photographs into a document.

Are my photographs re-encoded?

No. Photographs are kept byte-for-byte as supplied, and restoration works from that original rather than from a re-compressed copy.

What resolution should I scan at?

300 DPI is a good general minimum. Go to 600 DPI for halftone material - printed photographs in newspapers, magazines and books - because the screen has to be resolvable before it can be measured and removed.

Why is there no prompt box?

Because two operators would write two different descriptions of the same damage and get two different restorations, neither defensible afterwards. The condition survey replaced it, which makes treatments reproducible.

How do I protect a seal or signature?

Draw a box around it before treating. Held regions are excluded from processing entirely and composited back from the original with a feathered edge, so the mark on the delivered sheet is the original.

Can I undo a treatment?

Yes. Every treatment lands as its own revertible version, and you can go back to any point including the original capture, which stays in the job for as long as the job exists.

Can I apply a treatment to just part of a page?

Yes - mark the region and only that area is rebuilt. Everything outside the marked region is provably unmodified.

What happens if one page in a batch fails?

That page fails and nothing else does. Pages are processed one at a time with their own progress, result and failure, so you retry the single sheet.

What does 'withheld' mean?

That a value was read but did not clear its check or its confidence floor. It appears in its own export column, distinct from a field that was genuinely blank on the document - conflating those two is how bad data enters a system.

Whatever the document supports: check digits on identifiers and MRZ lines, column totals on ledgers, geometric closure on survey plans, two independent readers on grades, and a medication safety pass on clinical fields.

Yes. Every captured field carries its confidence and a crop of the exact pixels it was read from, so reviewing a value means looking at the original beside it.

No. Every connection is read-only. It can list and fetch what you point it at, and it cannot write, move or delete anything.

Encrypted against your account. There is no view anywhere in the product that exposes the deployment's own environment configuration.

One unit of restoration work. A full restoration is ten points, heavier repairs are two, everything else is one, and identifying or surveying a document costs nothing. Every tier is priced on the same unit, and the points per dollar improve at every step up the ladder.

Do points roll over?

No. The allowance renews at the start of each billing month and unused points do not carry over.

What happens when I run out?

Restorations stop until the month renews, and nothing already done is affected. There are no top-up packs - moving up a tier is how you buy more work, and it takes effect immediately.

Where do I see my remaining allowance?

It is permanent furniture in the product: a banner at the foot of the sidebar, a counter in the topbar and a panel in the account menu, all reading the same real ledger usage.
