Read back & verify
Every field is read off the restored card and checked against the MRZ, whose check digits are recomputed. Anything uncertain is withheld, not guessed.

The number has to survive the restoration
An identity document is only as good as the characters on it, so Docovly never lets the model author a value. The machine-readable zone carries its own arithmetic, and we use it.
- MRZ lines are parsed and each check digit is recomputed from the data it protects.
- Document number, date of birth and expiry are cross-read against the MRZ.
- A character that cannot be resolved with confidence is flagged and withheld into its own column.
- The untouched original is delivered alongside, so nothing is taken on trust.
